These rods are upgrades to existing rods and do not offer additional features that help gains in fishing values such as xp gained. To clarify, the xp gained from a pro rod is equal to the xp gained from a pro rod extended version rod, and so on. What they do offer is more along the lines of cosmetic values

If you own a regular version rod and wish to upgrade to the extended version of that same rod, you can do so for only the cost of the price difrence between the two rods. This upgrade must be done thru wili clip though. Buying the extended version from another source - such as marketplace - will not get you the cost reduction.
